Welcome to the website for Darren Taggart, a UK based Musician and Teacher of Music and Production.
With more than 20 years playing experience, Darren has appeared across the UK, Europe, United States of America and Canada to crowds exceeding 50,000. Career highlights include sharing stages with Billy Idol, Newton Faulkner, James Blunt, Lightning Seeds, A Ha, The Wonderstuff, Gary Numan, The Stranglers and Lee Latchford Evans (Steps) as well as live sessions for regional and national radio stations. Darren is also an experienced backline technician and sound engineer, with past clients including The Australian Pink Floyd Show, Pete Docherty, Toby Jepson (Little Angels), Diversity, Simon Webb (Blue), Alabama 3, Babyshambles, The Horrors and The Sonics.
In addition to extensive live and studio experience, Darren has studied Music to a high level and holds certification from Apple (UK), The British Institute of Modern Music, Point Blank Music School, a degree in Professional Practice (Music), a Master's degree in Music Industry Innovation and Enterprise and a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status.
Darren is currently the Guitarist in The Neotones (award winning covers band featured on BBC Radio) and part of the backing band for Aid Lewis (critically acclaimed singer/songwriter also featured on BBC Radio). He is available for live and studio sessions as well as private lessons in guitar, music theory and music technology.
